With a surface area of 20 km², Lac de Lacanau in Gironde communicates with Lac d’Hourtin and is bordered by a wide variety of landscapes that are a delight for nature lovers.

The village of Moutchic, on the north side of the lake, boasts a large, beautiful beach, while the south of the lake is home to the Pointe du Bernos and a number of small islands. To the east is the town of Lacanau, and to the west are the villages of Carreyre, La Grande Escourre and Longarisse.

There’s plenty to do for the whole family at the campsite. Children can enjoy the kids’ club and playground. And older children can enjoy a game of table tennis, beach volleyball or pétanque.

You can also try stand-up paddling by contacting Captain Tedey, and admire the shores of the lake from a new point of view. Attention, you’ll need to work on your balance! Expect a few refreshing falls into the lake.

Relax on the beaches of Lac de Lacanau at Camping Le Tedey

Lacanau lake is surrounded by several beaches, each more beautiful than the others. The Grande Escoure beach is ideal for families. It is supervised every summer and hosts a restaurant and sailing club. The golden sand is particularly clean, and you can enjoy the shade of the trees along the road.

Pointe du Tedey, meanwhile, is a particular magnet for sailing enthusiasts. A large dune protects the beach from the wind. Moutchic beach is also supervised in summer. It’s a very family-friendly beach, with a relaxation area, picnic tables and shady lawns. What’s more, it’s easy to get to, with a large parking lot right next door. The Moutchic beach is also home to a snack bar and restaurants. There’s even a safe swimming area for children, and pedal boats are available for hire.

As for Carreyre Bay, it’s a photographer’s delight. It’s the ideal spot for photo shoots. You’ll also love Lacanau’s beaches, such as Plage de l’Écureuil. As for the conches to the south of the lake, they provide the setting for some great walks.
